Thunderbirds Are Go is go in America, as Amazon has licensed the CG reboot of the classic UK puppet series to debut on Prime Video. In fact, Amazon has not just licensed it, but ordered four seasons of the adventures of the Tracy brothers. The season one trailer is here.
Rockstars are go! For the 50th anniversary of the puppet adventure show Thunderbirds, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker is joining Portishead’s Adrian Utley and Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory for a ginormous tribute concert on Dec. 1.
I never get sick of photos of the USAF Thunderbirds doing their thing because they make real life look way cooler than any sort of movie or video game or fake effects. This picture of four Thunderbirds doing the “Diamond Bottom Up Pass maneuver” is taken at such an angle that they don’t even look like planes.
I love this spectacular picture of the US Air Force Thunderbirds flying in perfect unison into the sky because the trail they leave behind look like the fingers of a cloud monster giving the jets a boost into the air. And because they're above the clouds, it almost looks like they're flying on a Hoth-like different…
We've had teasers for a while, but the first trailer for Thunderbirds Are Go!, ITV's remake of the classic British puppet series Thunderbirds is here — and it's packed with beautiful practical models, slightly creepy CG people, and plenty of nods and winks to the classic works of Gerry Anderson. Check it out!
It's the official 50th anniversary of Thunderbirds, a beloved British TV series from the '60s featuring a family of mildly creepy marionettes as they save the world. A new series starring equally creepy CGI characters will debut in April, and publisher Modiphius is joining the celebration with their co-op board game.
If this hadn't been published by the US Air Force, I would think it's a fake and those F-16s from their Thunderbird exhibition team weren't real but cloned and perfectly aligned in Photoshop to form a delta formation. It was shot at the Daytona International Speedway during a practice flight for the Daytona 500…
We've not seen much of the reboot of the cult British show Thunderbirds outside of a small teaser and the soulless void that is the new look International Rescue - but what about the Thunderbirds themselves, the actual vehicles? Here's our first good look at them in Toy form, thanks to London Toy fair.
The new Thunderbirds Are Go! characters totally look like awesome action heroes and not creepy little goblins who hover over your bed, watching you sleep, breathing in your exhaled breath and pushing their own little CG poofs of air back into your mouth. Here's the first look at the new Thunderbirds!
Here's your first good look at Thunderbirds Are Go!, the forthcoming reboot of the 1960s British scifi series Thunderbirds.
Gerry Anderson is a name forever burned into the minds of kids who grew up with sci-fi series like Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet, Stingray and of course, Thunderbirds - but with a little help from crowdfunding, we might get to see a new Anderson-created Puppet series hit screens called Firestorm.
For all the boring photography jobs out there—weddings, corporate, et cetera—Sergeant Larry Reid Jr. did pretty well to avoid them all and land one of the most thrilling jobs imaginable. He is the photographer for the Air Force Thunderbirds. His job is to fly with the team and document their amazing flights.
You can just see it in his eyes. It's a combination of fear, disbelief in what he's seeing, discomfort and general awesomeness blended together. It's like he's saying, "Holy crap what did I just get myself into oh my god this is fantastic wait how long can I last before I pass out."
It's called a Calypso Pass. That's when two jets fly in a mirror image pattern like this, often only inches apart. A few weeks ago, two U.S. Air Force Thunderbird F-16 Fighting Falcons did just that. Show me a drone with this kind of style.
It never gets old. My mind never stops being blown. The US Air Force pilots who somehow fly their Thunderbird F-16s so impossibly close like this will never become any less impressive. I wouldn't even walk this close to another human, let alone touch tails in mid-air.
For some shows, a Christmas episode represents the perfect opportunity to gather together friends and family, to celebrate the essential bonds that ultimately unite the people that populate a given fictional universe. But for the 1960s puppet espionage show Joe 90, Christmas was the perfect opportunity to mix together…
The '60s sci fi/adventure series Thunderbirds is getting a huge reboot sans the marionettes that made the series famous. Before you throw a chair out the window, hear this — the puppets are being replaced by CG models created by Weta.
We're still mourning the late, great Gerry Anderson — so it's a perfect time to pay tribute to his visual sense of style. His puppet space opera Thunderbirds was more stylish and "mod" than people ever gave it credit for — and over at Some Came Running, ex-Premiere Magazine writer Glenn Kenny posts some screencaps of …
